Destination Printing™

What’s more eco-friendly, a truckload of manuals traveling cross-country or an electronic file of that same manual sent cross-country, printed and then delivered locally?

That’s the whole, simple, sustainable idea behind ViaTech’s Destination Printing. We have company-owned print facilities worldwide, 10 locations in the U.S. alone, all working as a single unit, so you create and proof your documents locally, but print materials at or near their final destination.

They arrive faster and produce a fraction of the carbon emissions associated with airfreight, tanker or overland shipping. When you consider the rising cost of fuel, ViaTech clients are trimming their print budgets by as much as 30%, making Destination Printing both economic and eco-smart.

Print Only What You Need, When You Need It

On-Demand is the most resource-efficient printing method ever conceived. And ViaTech is our earth’s only worldwide on-demand publisher.

Traditional thinking says– Let’s print a pallet load of materials just to get the price per unit down. Then, when it becomes outdated and we throw it out, we won’t feel so bad.

Large batch printing encourages waste, requires energy to warehouse, inventory, and track, and often falls victim to obsolescence.

The irony is, for a company with on-going print needs, printing on-demand is often less expensive when you consider the total cost of getting printed materials into the hands of readers.

Whenever Possible, Use Recycled and Recyclable Products

ViaTech has created eco-friendly options for nearly all of the products we produce. We encourage our clients to use recycled and/or highly recyclable materials whenever possible. This includes not only paper, but also binders and books as well. The chipboard stiffener used in our vinyl and turned-edge binders for example, is made from recycled post-consumer content. Nearly all of our semi-rigid poly materials are 100% recyclable. Even the metal rings for our binders contain a high degree of recycled steel.

We Started With Our Own Environment

ViaTech technology is also hard at work throughout each of our facilities, and while our locations are not yet carbon neutral, we are well on our way. We are working to reduce and offset carbon emissions throughout our system.

Everything from lights & heaters to computers & copiers are monitored for minimal energy use. The corrugated cartons we use for shipping contain high amounts of post-consumer recycled contents and every used carton goes to the local recycling centers to be used again. The same is true for nearly every pierce of scrap that results from our production process, be it vinyl, poly, paper or wood fiber.

We use minimal amounts of solvents for clean up and printing and all are government-compliant and recycled when possible.

Are we there yet?
